$1 Horse Racing Day at Golden Gate Fields | Berkeley

If you want to try something new, there’s the old-fashioned fun of horse racing going on real close by—and real cheap too. Every Sunday from now through June 12, nearly every costs just a single buck at Golden Gate Fields in North Berkeley.

Check out out the thoroughbred action at the Fields, a place that’s been hosting horse races since 1941. You don’t have to bet to have fun since there are 8 or 9 races a day (but bets are as low as $2 apiece with bounties of up to about $22).

There’s also live music in between the races. This week it’s the cheeky “rock ‘n roll machine” Wonder Bread 5 entertaining.
