Enjoy a free day at the museum with Wells Fargo Free Second Sundays. The Oakland Museum of California provides unique collections, exhibitions and educational opportunities designed to generate a broader and deeper understanding of and interest in California’s environment, history, art and people. (please note that for July, funcheap mistakenly had listed this event as free on the first sunday of the month)
Getting There:
Take BART to Lake Merritt station. Exit at 9th Street and walk down Oak with the one-way flow of traffic to 10th Street. The museum is on your right. The entrance is up the steps on Oak Street between 10th and 12th Streets.

Unfortunately, the dates posted here for the free days are incorrect. It’s the 2nd Sunday of each month, so today (7/6) the musuem is not free, while next Sunday (7/13) it is free!!! August’s free date is 8/10 and September’s is 9/14.

you’re right levi, thanks for pointing this out! i’ve fixed the posting. we mistakenly listed the free day as the first sunday of the month when it is indeed the 2nd sunday of the month.
