Volunteers get free Giants all-star T-shirt and lunch

Friday, June 29
8:00 amto1:00 pm

Join the SF Giants, Green Connect, and the Department of Public Works for a Giant volunteer day during All-Stars week. With baseball players and community volunteers, we will spend the day beautifying San Francisco’s neighborhood and business districts along a variety of high profile corridors across the City.

On Friday, June 29th, our greening and cleaning work will take place in 20 locations throughout the City, and include planting 39 new street trees, maintenance of hundreds more newly planted trees, graffiti painting and weeding.

All Volunteers will receive a very special “Green Giants” All-Star Team t-shirt and hat. Lunch provided!

Volunteers will be organized into teams of 10-20 people and assigned a crew leader for segments along the corridors. An orientation will be provided as well as tools and materials such as gloves, shovels, hammers, litter pickers, brooms, and painting supplies.

A list of available sites is available here. As of 6/13/07, there were 16 sites still open including Mission @ 22nd, Market @ Gough, Haight @ Webster and more.
Volunteers will meet at the specific corridor Greening Sites at 8am. Afterwards a reception and lunch will be provided at Hallidie Plaza near Powell and Market.
