Free Family Admission Day to 35 Museums (San Francisco)

San Francisco families with children (up to age 18) can enjoy free admission Sunday January 13th to 35 museums and other attractions in San Francisco. In addition Kids ride Muni free from 10am to 4pm. Patricipating museums include Asian Art Museum (10a-4p) Free tours at AT&T Park (11a - 2p) Cartoon Art Museum (11a-4p) Coit Tower (10a-4p) de Young Museum (9:30a-4:30p) Exploratorium (11a-4p) SF MOMA (11a-4p) and dozens more. This offer is valid only for San Francisco families. All adults must be accompanied by at least one child ages 0 to 18. Children must be accompanied by an adult. High School students with proper ID can attend any of the venues without adult supervision. You need to bring proof of San Francisco residence (Drivers license, utility bill or report card for a child) Click for Frequently Asked Questions to determine if you are eligible.

    Very Nice for SF but what about the people who would like to go who live in East Bay, some of us are more economically challenged and could really use a little break.

    i agree patricia.. it would be great if other cities followed SF’s lead and sponsored free museum days for families… many museums in east bay (like Oakland Museum of California, Berkeley Art Museum, Pacific Film Archive, etc…) do have a free day once a month regardless if you have a family or not, though. Not ideal, but at least it’s a start.
