Coldplay gives away new single “Violet Hill” for one week (Free mp3)

Tuesday, April 29

Not quite as cool as Radiohead letting you pay 1 penny for the entire album of ‘In Rainbow’s last year, but nonetheless, Coldplay’s new single, ‘Violet Hill’, will be available as a free download exclusively from Coldplay.com for one week starting Tuesday April 29th, at 4:15am PST. This is a full week ahead of the single’s conventional paid-for digital release, on Tuesday May 6th. Opening with a jagged distorted guitar riff, the song announces a new template: The stalking, bluesy beat fits nicely with Martin’s earthy vocals and plaintive lyrics: “If you love me, won’t you let me know?” From the upcoming album, “Viva La Vida or Death And All His Friends”
