Last 2008 Wildflower hike at Coyote-Bear Park (Gilroy)

Saturday, May 17
9:00 amto12:00 pm

This is your last chance to see the colorful wildflower displays at Coyote Lake-Harvey Bear Ranch County Park in 2008. The hills are turning golden, and these floral gems are quickly going to seed. But all is not lost. Join a park ranger at the Mendoza Ranch Trailhead in Coyote Lake-Harvey Bear Ranch County, on Saturday, May 17, 2008 from 9:00 a.m. to 12 noon. Take a moderate 4.5-mile hike around Mummy Mountain for spectacular valley views and colorful wildflower displays. NOTE: Depending on weather/flower conditions, this hike might be moved to the Coyote Dam the day of the hike. Participants should wear hard-soled shoes, sunscreen, a hat, and long pants. They should also bring water, a snack and lunch. For more information call Ranger Crockett at 408-842-7800, or e-mail: chris.crockett@prk.sccgov.org.

I think a mistake was made here in the site. According to the Ranger station at Coyote Lake-Harvey Bear Ranch County Park, the event is actually tomorrow (Sunday, May 18), not today. It won’t help anyone who made the drive today (yours truly), but in case someone wants to do it tomorrow at 9 am, the rangers are meeting everyone at the staging area just outside the park entrance.
