According to the Ranger station at Coyote Lake-Harvey Bear Ranch County Park, the event is actually tomorrow (Sunday, May 18), not today. It won't help anyone who made the drive today (yours truly), but in case someone wants to do it tomorrow at 9 am, the rangers are meeting everyone at the staging area just outside the park entrance.
