Seminar: Bar, Food, Customer Retention, and Employees and Managers (SOMA)

Monday, June 9
6:00 pmto8:00 pm

The San Francisco Entertainment Commission is hosting a free Hospitality and Entertainment Academy seminars, entitled: Bar, Food, Customer Retention, and Employees and Managers. Nightclub, restaurant, bar, and entertainment professionals wanting to improve their bottom-line will learn techniques and tricks from a panel of San Francisco’s leading restaurateurs and hospitality experts. Guest speakers include Kevin Blum, publisher/editor of The City Dish; Matthew J. Metcalf (pictured), executive chef and wine director forAsiaSF and others.

“Bar, Food, Customer Retention, and Employees and Managers” will address:
Bar – Hot cocktails and an eye on economical management makes the glass more than 1⁄2 full.
Food – Restaurants represent more than 1.3 billion dollars of income. In a survey of 44 states in the US, with labor costs rising along with gas and local government taxes, survival of the innovative is the trend.
Customer Retention – people are hungry for the latest offerings, not only with new dishes but with better service – priced right and everything from elegant to cozy atmosphere. Philanthropy helps too.
Employees and Manager – everything trickles down from the top – managers trained to encourage customer service leads to employees being service ambassadors for the venue. Focus on employees by design – encouragement goes a long way – concentrate on growing the business.

The Bar, Food, Customer Retention, and Employees and Managers seminar will held Monday, June 9, 2007, 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Pyramind Production and Training, 832 Folsom Street, San Francisco.
