Gather the kids or grab a date and fly on over to the Conservatory of Flowers for a nocturnal experience like no other. The popular Butterfly Zone exhibit of free flying butterflies is back, and this year we’ve added special Night Safaris that allow you to hunt for mysterious moths in the dark. Guided only by the glow of a flashlight, you and your family can search for the alluring, green Luna moth, track the giant Cecropia and discover flocks of roosting butterflies in the rafters. So, come and be the first to go on safari in Golden Gate Park. Flashlights provided.
Night Safaris take place every first and third Thursday through October 2, 2008 from 8 to 9:30 p.m. (last entry: 9 p.m.)

2008 marks the 30th Anniversary of the San Francisco Ethnic Dance Festival, and in celebration of this landmark occasion, 50 master musicians and dancers from around the world join 500 Northern California artists on the Festival stage to make this year’s event extra special.
The third weekend (June 21 & 22) features Eszterlanc Hungarian Folk Ensemble, Vishwa Shanti Dance Academy (India), Murphy Irish Dancers, Ballet Folklorico Mexicano de Carlos Moreno, LIKHA-Pilipino Folk Ensemble, Niharika Mohanty pictured (India), Bolivia Corazon de America, China Dance School and Theatre and Ballet Lisanga II West African Performing Arts Company. The Festival takes place every Saturday and Sunday through June 29, 2008. Performances are Saturdays, 2 and 8 pm; Sundays at 2 pm. Hayden is a Canadian musician who’s been releasing records for over a decade now. He began his career releasing two cassettes and several 7-inch singles before his debut full-length, ‘Everything I Long For’, on his own Hardwood Records, while living at home with his parents in suburban Toronto, Ontario. The album would be released internationally on via Geffen Records in 1996, following much acclaim in Canada independently. 2004’s Elk-Lake Serenade continued to garner critical and public acclaim. An album of personal growth and discovery, Hayden’s music hasn’t changed over the years so much as matured and evolved into a true timeless treasure. In January 2008 Hayden released in Canada his fifth full-length record titled ‘In Field & Town’. Eleven tracks in all, In Field & Town’ was recorded and produced by Hayden and has already garnered tremendous attention. Also Haley Bonar and Nathan Dalton
