This Fourth of July, the City of Sunnyvale invites you bring a picnic blanket, food, family, friends and games for a do-it-yourself, old-fashioned picnic at Baylands Park. All picnic sites at Baylands Park will be free and available on a first-come, first-served basis. Parking is free for Sunnyvale residents with valid ID, a savings of $5.

All group picnic sites have extra-large barbecue grills, electricity and water, layout tables, shade structures and can and bottle recycling containers. Play structures and restrooms are nearby. Between noon and 2 p.m. Rock Lerum, a veteran performer at the Hands On the Arts Festival, will rove the picnic areas as a stilt walker and juggler. The Sunnyvale Parks and Recreation Fun on the Run
truck will also be onsite noon - 2 p.m. to provide free games and activities for elementary school-aged children. To protect wildlife, pets are not allowed in the park.
