Italian documentary series “The Hour of the Lizard (L’ora della lucertola)” in North Beach

Part of the Mimmo Calopresti Film Series, The Hour of the Lizard (L’ora della lucertola)(Italy, 2004, 60’) This documentary is a lengthy confession by the Italian artist Mimmo Rotella about his life, with an emphasis on the ironic and existential. The film’s title comes from a popular Southern expression used by Rotella’s mother in the 1920’s to warn against the heat of the midday sun. In Italian with subtitles in English.
