Doomsdayers are forecasting the End of the World this weekend. What do you want to be doing when it all ends?

The Center for Sex & Culture will hold its annual fundraising event showcasing solo sexuality on May 21-22, 2011.

The 2011 Live Masturbate-a-Thon: Arm (and Hand)-ageddon:

It’s going to be a much more intimate event, akin to the original Jack-and-Jill-Off parties of the 1980s in San Francisco. Solo, coupled or group masturbators will be raising money for the center by getting off.

There will be two rooms available in this all-weekend splurge fest, giving space for people to be alone with those of the same sex.

— Saturday May 21, 7-10 pm: women, couples and transgender

— Sunday May 22, 2-5 pm: men, couples and transgender

Pledges: In order to take part in the event, you have to either raise pledges (a min of $10 per hour is suggested) or self-pledge (a minimum of $20).

It will be a much smaller affair than in recent years, however, because the center is busy moving into a new space. (But next year will be bigger than ever, they promise.)

Entertainment: Because of the move, organizers have nixed any film screenings, live webcasting online, or tracking of masturbation timing records. But there will be a performance stage with talented friends of the center coming on. The only planned performers so far for 2011 will be a group of dancers from the famed Lusty Lady peepshow – but please be aware event that’s not 100%.

Just want to watch? voyeurs pay $20 which is a bit spendier than our normal Funcheap listings, but we think it’s worth the, er… uh… “splurge.” Oh and you can only watch in the couples and groups room. There’ll be no just going to see the girl. But please note – that due to space limitations participants will be let in first and voyeurs let in only when space is available.

So whether you masturbate or “masterbate” (yes, many people misspell this word because of typing with one hand) a good time will be guaranteed for all comers.
