The 3rd Annual FIRST Tech Challenge West Super-Regional Championship tournament will see the top 72 robotics teams from throughout the western US will compete while playing the 2015-2016 game challenge, FIRST RES-Q.

> 2016 Schedule

FTC is designed for 7th to 12 grade students who want to compete head-to-head, using a sports model. Small teams, generally up to 10 students, are responsible for designing, building, and programming their robots to compete in an alliance format against other teams.

During the tournaments, teams have multiple qualifying rounds. When not competing with their robots, teams are interviewed by judges not only about the technical design of their robots, their programming and game strategy, but also how they work as a team and also reach out to their community to help spread enthusiasm about FIRST and science, technology, engineering and math (STEM), as well as connecting to mentors and sponsors. Teams learn skills beyond the game strategy and the robot design, skills such as problem solving, project management, critical thinking, leadership, negotiating, marketing and teamwork.

Please Note: If you want to visit with the competing teams in their work/pit area, you must wear closed toe shoes.
