San Francisco’s Bayview Neighborhood comes alive for 3rd on Third, a community-wide arts celebration for the whole family happening from 5-8 pm every third Friday of the month, at Bayview Town Center (Mendell Plaza at 3rd Street & Oakdale Ave).

The monthly event features pop-up galleries, pop-up attractions, local food vendors, a beer and wine garden, a special children’s zone with free art-making activities, and a stage featuring talent from Bayview and beyond.

Other activities include:

• A Bayview Merchant’s Association sponsored Trolley will run between McKinnon and Quesada along Third Street
• Afrique Sogue leads a procession along Third Street
• Unveiling and live mural-making – There will be six StreetSmARTS murals along Third Street
• Bayview Opera House Ruth Williams Memorial Theatre hosts a children’s zone with free art-making activities by ThreePointNine Art Collective and a performance by Vivian Ellis
• Pop-up gallery at Radio Africa with art provided by elders from the Hunter’s Point Shipyard
• Pop-up gallery and gelato at Market on Third
• Auntie April’s hosts the Museum of the African Diaspora’s Bayview oral history presentation
• Mendell Plaza reserved for the food trucks (All Good Pizza, Black Cuisine, & BorinquenSOUL), beer and wine garden, and Riveropolis (the river for young and old to get their hands wet and play in)
• Zaccho Dance performs along Third Street
