Come celebrate Independence Day at a City of Santa Clara traditional event – the All City Picnic held in Central Park from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Start the morning out with an outdoor pancake breakfast (8a-10a for $6) and relax to live entertainment throughout the day at the Pavilion, including the Sizzling Seniors and the Santa Clara Parks & Recreation Department dancers.

Bring a picnic lunch or purchase all-American foods prepared by local community groups ($1 to $6) along with reasonably priced activities available: carnival games and face painting near the softball field, and swimming at the International Swim Center.

Entertainment: Flag Dedication Ceremony at noon, followed by the band performances — The Bell Brothers (Country Rock) from 12:30-2 p.m. and Busta-Groove (Dance Party Machine) from 3-5 p.m.

Please note there will be no official city-run fireworks show in Santa Clara for 2011 due to budget constraints – Great America will be hosting fireworks shows every Saturday night in July and August as well as on Sunday, July 3rd.
