Event Details

Join for the First Air War – a free opportunity to hear some great speakers, shop for books and aviation art, and check out models and exhibits.

They will also have tabletop gaming and other aviation history groups present to talk with. Share with your friends who enjoy history, gaming, models and aviation.

Presenters include:

  • Jack Herris: The World’s First Strategic Bombing Campaign
This seminar examines the beginning of strategic bombing to see how it all started in 1914 and why it was not the war-winning weapon in World War 1 that it proved to be in World War 2.
  • Dana Lombardy: “Knights of the Sky” and the Struggle for Air Superiority
World War One in the air has been popularized by Snoopy (“Curse you, Red Baron!”), and remembered as the idealized or “noble” combat. But the true story about the fighter aircraft and aces is a fascinating tale of technological achievements and fierce competition for control of the skies.
