Event Details

The new film about Alan Turing, The Imitation Game, does a great job at telling the story of how the famous code-breaker helped the allies win World War II, but the film doesn’t include any explanation of how Turing actually broke the Germans’ secret code.

In this lecture, Professor Aaron Belkin will explain how the German code worked, why it was so hard to break, and how Turing cracked it.

reception will follow the lecture.
