Cost: There are events that are free, but some may have admission fees.The 2019 theme of CommUNITY honors the design discipline’s global unity, which will be celebrated at the opening night party on June 20, 2019 when leading San Francisco and acclaimed international designers showcase original artifacts they have produced especially for the event—posters, typeface, product, sculpture, motion graphic or artwork–– a response to the concept of “communicating unity.”
3D printing has changed how designs are prototyped. Can it change how final products are made too? In this session, Gantri founder Ian Yang will be chatting with Chris Granneberg, a renowned LA-based industrial designer, about where the design industry is heading and how Gantri uses 3D printing to facilitate design entrepreneurship.
In collaboration with SF Design Week, Gantri and Chris Granneberg have created a limited edition light that will be raffled off during the session. All proceeds goes to supporting AIGA and their continuing work for the design community.
