Event Details

Spring has sprung, and Astronomy on Tap has returned for another night full of all things space. Astronomy on Tap Bay Area has taken up permanent residence in San Francisco, so they’re changing their name to AoTSF.

Franck Marchis of the SETI institute will discuss whether the search for a sister Earth is science or fiction. Kyle Story will talk about his work on the South Pole telescope and share a few stories from his trips to the South Pole. And finally, SLAC scientist and Stanford Professor Aaron Roodman will share details from his hunt for dark energy.

They’ll also feature Astronomy in the News, with explanations of NASA’s most recent exoplanet announcement and the upcoming solar eclipse. There will also be their standard trivia with prizes. For updates, follow their twitter and their page on Facebook.
