Event Details

Come see the Aurora Mandolin Orchestra, the largest orchestra of its peculiar kind in the Bay Area. They’re playing a FREE show at the 200+ seat Koret Auditorium in the library’s Main Branch.

They call it “The sounds of strings from many lands” and it really runs the gamut from traditional pieces to orchestral works mainly of Italian (where the mandolin comes from) descent with Spanish and Russian music too.

There’ll be 23 musicians on stage with instruments ranging the mandolin to the mandola and the mandocello, but also an accordion, flutes and string bass plus some guitar and percussion to round it up.
