Awesöme Orchestra | Epic Free Classical Concerts

Awesöme Orchestra brings people together for musical adventures. Their free sessions are part performance, part open rehearsal. They provide the sheet music, and anyone is welcome to play or to listen.

The Awesöme Orchestra Collective is the Bay Area’s most adventurous reading orchestra, dedicated to playing excellent orchestral music of all kinds with amazing musicians in a fun, casual environment focused on high musicianship. Their events are always free, but they ask for a pay-what-you-will donation to help cover basic costs.

In collaboration with the Northern California Wagner Society, Awesöme Orchestra will be celebrating Wagner’s 202nd birthday with German food, beer, artwork of his operas by Cal Pedranti, and, of course, lots of great bombastic orchestral music.

Repertoire and schedule are as follows, with David Möschler, conductor and featuring special guest conductor, D. Kern Holoman:

  • Wagner – Lohengrin, Prelude to Act III
  • Berlioz – Symphonie Fantastique, movement IV “March to the Scaffold”
  • Shore, Howard – The Fellowship of the Ring – Orchestral suite (arr. John Whitney)

To participate, you must sign up on Google form.

Check out the sheet music and reference recordings for all three pieces on Google Drive (hard copies will be provided).

If you’re participating, all you have to do is bring a music stand. They’ll have chairs, sheet music and free drinks for all players.
