Awesöme Orchestra Collective: Classical Jam & Beer

awesome orchestra

Awesöme Orchestra brings people together for musical adventures. Their free sessions are part performance, part open rehearsal. They provide the sheet music, and anyone is welcome to play or to listen.

10313876_273379406200567_913127238578992987_oThe Awesöme Orchestra Collective is the Bay Area’s most adventurous reading orchestra, dedicated to playing excellent orchestral music of all kinds with amazing musicians in a fun, casual environment focused on high musicianship. Their events are always free, but they ask for a pay-what-you-will donation to help cover basic costs.

If you’re a musician, they’ll have special sign-up lists and sheet music before each event, so you can come prepared to play.

Join them as they round up their 2017 highlights in one special event—their third annual End-of-Year Concert. Throughout 2017 they’ve played with over 500 local musicians at fourteen different events.

If you’re a musician be sure to stay tuned for more info about how to get involved. If you’re not already on their musician’s mailing list sign up to stay tuned.

Some of the highlights from the year they’ll feature are:

  • Music by classical music composers George Gershwin, Arturo Marquez, Nobuo Uematsu, and more!
  • The premiere performance of Oakland composer Arturo Rodriguez’s “Requiem without Words,” written in commemoration of those lost in the Ghost Ship Fire.
  • A set of songs by Harry Nilsson featuring his son, Kiefo Nilsson and local singer-songwriter Kendra McKinley

Come celebrate community and music at their End of Year Concert.

Cost:

  • $30 for Tier 1 General Admission Seating
  • $20 for Tier 2 General Admission Seating
  • Free or pay what you can on the day of the event. All are welcome.
