Awesöme Orchestra | Epic Free Classical Concerts

Awesöme Orchestra brings people together for musical adventures. Their free sessions are part performance, part open rehearsal. They provide the sheet music, and anyone is welcome to play or to listen.

The Awesöme Orchestra Collective is the Bay Area’s most adventurous reading orchestra, dedicated to playing excellent orchestral music of all kinds with amazing musicians in a fun, casual environment focused on high musicianship. Their events are always free, but they ask for a pay-what-you-will donation to help cover basic costs.

Join Awesöme Orchestra as a musician or a listener for their next musical adventure: Open Session 56: Saint-Saëns, Rodriguez, Pokémon at Public Knowledge Library, San Francisco Museum of Modern Art.

Repertoire, instrumentation, and schedule are as follows, with conductor David Möschler:

  • 1:00–1:45 p.m. – Camille Saint-Saëns – Danse Macabre, op. 40
  • 2:00–3:00 p.m. – Arturo Rodriguez – “Kyrie” from Requiem Without Words (Premiere reading)
  • 3:15–4:00 p.m. – Pokémon Medley – Junichi Masuda (arr. for full orchestra by Andres Soto)
