Awesöme Orchestra | Epic Free Classical Concerts
Awesöme Orchestra brings people together for musical adventures. Their free sessions are part performance, part open rehearsal. They provide the sheet music, and anyone is welcome to play or to listen.
The Awesöme Orchestra Collective is the Bay Area’s most adventurous reading orchestra, dedicated to playing excellent orchestral music of all kinds with amazing musicians in a fun, casual environment focused on high musicianship. Their events are always free, but they ask for a pay-what-you-will donation to help cover basic costs.
This session will be conducted by guest conductor and composer Brian Adam McCune.
Program:
- 1:00–2:00 p.m. – Aaron Copland, Fanfare for the Common Man (brass and percussion only – 2′)
- 2:00–3:00 p.m. – Brian Adam McCune, The Riddler (for wind ensemble – 5′)
- 3:00–4:00 p.m. – Morten Lauridsen, O Magnum Mysterium (arr. for wind ensemble by H. Robert Reynolds – 6′)
