The African American museum and library at Oakland welcomes Barbers, books, and bridges for a special community event toward providing multi-cultural literature for youth. The event will feature storytelling, a book giveaway and conversation on the value of promoting culturally relevant reading materials to raise awareness and urgency, so that every classroom speaks to its student body and represents a diversity of experiences.
