Event Details

The EcoCenter at Heron’s Head Park, a part of bay.org, is hosting the first ever BaySplash, a unique community event that will celebrate STEM education and environmental justice through festive, fun, educational, and free activities. Think scavenger hunts, science experiments, art, music, and food. The event encourages attendees to explore and experience the EcoCenter and to discover what it means to live more environmentally friendly lives.

The free community event and STEM showcase will feature “activity zones” sponsored by individual and organizational donors and partners, such as NBA Champs Golden State Warriors, The Port of San Francisco, D10 Supervisor Malia Cohen, YMCA of San Francisco, Recology, Comcast, ABC7, APRISF, NOW Hunters Point, Ben & Jerry’s, and SF Parks Alliance. The zones include EcoCenter STEM Zone; Arts Zone – urban mural art and children’s art; HEAL Zone – Healthy Eating Active Living; STE(A)M Exploration Zone – mobile lab with live sea animals, solar activities, renewable energy, robotics and DNA coding, etc.

They’ve added ‘A’ for ARTS to enhance the community’s BaySplash experience. Through our collaboration with IMPRINT.City local urban artists from cultural centers across San Francisco will create murals during the event expressing their most creative and inspirational impressions promoting environmental justice, urban sustainability, and community revitalization. These murals will become part of a traveling exhibit bridging art, science, and societal issues to extend the environmental justice discourse beyond the event.

For more detailed information on the specific activities visit the BaySplash website.
