Bier Sommer: View Point Movie Theater & Beer Garden | Russian HillJoin conceptual artist Hans Winkler, Office Wiederholt, and the San Francisco Art Institute (SFAI) for “Bier Sommer: View Point Movie Theater and Beer Garden” at SFAI’s historic Russian Hill campus on July 27 and July 28, 2012.

Bier Sommer explores beer gardens in the broader context of consumer and spectator culture. Discover film screenings, performances, and readings from noted local and international artists; beer coasters designed by artists, including Paul Kos, Julio Cesar Morales, and Nao Bustamante; the Beer Garden Newspaper, a tabloid-size periodical featuring texts and images about United States and German beer gardens; and beer from Hofbräuhaus Traunstein, one of the oldest breweries in Germany.

Beer and food will be available for purchase at the event. Guests must be over age 21 to drink. This two-day event is free and open to the public, but space is limited and advance registration is recommended.
