Event Details

On Saturday, October 3rd, Bay Area artist Dave Warnke will adorn 19 square concrete posts flanking the Dogpatch Playground at Woods MUNI Park with an assortment of his colorful comical creatures.

Mark Dwight, the project organizer, and owner of Rickshaw Bagworks directly across the street, conceived the idea, inspired by history and urban art.

“The arrangement of pillars on either side of the playground reminds me of Stonehenge and the statues on Easter Island,” explained Dwight. “And I thought they would be the perfect canvas for a public mural project featuring Dave’s lovable characters.”
