2019 Buddha Bathing Ceremony | Sunnyvale

The Chung Tai Zen Center will celebrate the Buddha’s Birthday with a “Bathing the Buddha” Ceremony (in English and Chinese).

Over 3,000 years ago, the great compassionate Buddha came to this world to awaken our Buddha nature. By bathing the baby Buddha, it is meant to clean the impurities from our minds so as to manifest the Buddha within.

Also, in gratitude to all parents in this Mother’s Day, there will be a recitation of “The Sutra as Spoken by the Buddha on the Profound Kindness of Parents and the Difficulties in Repaying Them” at 9 am.
