The Minnie & Lovie Recreation Center Athletic Field is reopening on Sunday, September 14, 2014.
Come by from 11 am to 2 pm for a celebration with an official ceremony at noon, a ribbon cutting, field play, live entertainment, food, and more.
This multi-purpose athletic field will host a variety of sports including: soccer, football, softball, baseball, lacrosse, volleyball and general sports play. This field renovation is part of the Playfields Initiative, a project of San Francisco Recreation and Parks and the City Fields Foundation to provide safe, accessible athletic fields for every local child who wants to play sports.
Renovation Highlights:
- Synthetic turf athletic field
- State-of-the-art, automatic field lights
- Baseball/softball dugouts and backstops
- New fencing
- New landscaping and walking paths
