Central Contra Costa Community Harvest | San Ramon

You will harvest fresh backyard fruit for donation to hunger relief agencies (soup kitchens, food pantries, shelters and the food bank) in Contra Costa County.  You will have all the necessary equipment, including buckets, picking-poles, ladders, clippers, gloves and crates with them.
Please wear closed-toed shoes and clothing appropriate for the expected weather conditions of the day and come prepared to be outdoors for 4 hours. Other items to consider are:

• Water
• Snack
• Hat and Sunglasses
• Gardening gloves
• Brown bag to take some fruit home

  • I have never been to a harvest. Can you give me an idea what to expect?
  • Is there an age limit?
    • Children must be 6 years or older and accompanied by a parent/guardian
  • Can I come without registering?
    • They prefer that you register so they can plan the harvest based on the size of the crew. If the event is not sold out and is not private, you are welcome to join without registering.
  • Where will we meet?
    • Their goal is to minimize the amount of driving. Once the harvest route is determined, they will send the address of your meeting point to you at least 24 hours ahead of time. It’s usually a public parking area close to the first harvest location. This way they all drive as little as possible and when appropriate they will form car pools.
