Event Details

Come and join the festivities for Cinco De Mayo in Fruitvale on Saturday, May 6, 2017. Members of the San Francisco Bay Area Urban Sketchers group will be at the event to capture the heart and soul of the celebration.

Festivities include:

  • Mariachi bands, Aztec dancers and Latin American music
  • Informational and educational booths, photo booth, and food vendors
  • Authentic Mexican and Central American restaurants and businesses in the immediate area
  • Explore International Blvd’s walls featuring Latin murals

You can also join the “Dining for Justice” Movement. Restaurants & Bars throughout Oakland will be featuring food and drink specials that generate donations to important immigrant programs.

Oakland Food Truck Association members are offering “Green Card” burritos at their trucks and margaritas at their restaurants. $2 per menu item will be donated to the cause. Eat, drink, and be heard.

Fruitvale festivities are hosted by Oakland City Council member Noel Gallo. Attendees are encouraged to use BART. The Fruitvale station offers the best access to the event.
