Plant gardens, tour an urban farm by bike, or take a veggie cooking class on Global Work Party Day

For one single day, over 7,000 events in 188 countries will take place with the sole purpose of reducing our carbon footprint, one way or another. Some people plant gardens, some ride bikes, some swap used clothes, others get educated about sustainability. Below is a list of some of the events going on in San Francisco on October 10, 2010 that can help make a difference (while being fun).

The 10/10/10 Global Work Party Day was organized by 350.org, an international group that took its name from the 350 parts per million of CO2 in the atmosphere that scientists say is a safe limit for humanity. We’re around 390ppm right now. Ouch.
