2011 San Francisco Reggae Festival

Hey mon! The all-day Reggae Festival hits the Fillmore this Saturday with live music, DJs and lots of great Jamaican grub.

It’s a little bit of the Caribbean in the city at this year’s San Francisco Reggae Festival on Saturday, August 27 from 11 a.m. till 6 p.m. at the Fillmore Center Plaza.

Enjoy authentic Jamaican cuisine, arts & crafts, children’s activities, live music from featured DJs and artists like T-Rosemund and The Italsouls, Ancestree and Irae Divine. Or just spend the day sampling island-inspired cuisine and getting your “passport” stamped to enter into a raffle for free concert tickets and gift certificates.

Hey mon, want to keep grooving after the daytime festival is over?

  • Fillmore District Club Crawl: (free) Cruise for DJs, drink and food specials at many venues along Fillmore Street.
  • After Party & Island Buffet ($20): The big party is at Gussie’s Chicken & Waffles, where you can jam out to a live reggae band and grub on an unlimited buffet (not only chicken and waffles, but also island delicacies like jerk chicken we’re told). Tix are $20 at the door, but Funcheap can get you in for just $10
