How Weird Street Faire 2017

Come celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Summer of Love, and the 18th ongoing historic counter-cultural gathering of How Weird. Once again to celebrate peace, dance in the streets, be inspired by art, shop exotic stores, make new friends and greet old ones, generate waves of joy, and expand consciousness.

For the 18th annual How Weird Street Faire, SoMa will be filled with art and performances including aerial performances and a clown dance on the Pranksters Paradise Stage, belly dancing at the Belly Dance Revolution Stage, live music including the Beatnik Lounge Stage featuring a beatbox cypher, loads of DJs on multiple stages, vendors, tasty food and drinks, and all of the colorful weirdness that San Francisco is famous for. All ages are welcome. FREE, but $15/adv ($20/door) gets you a collectible Magic Button with tons of perks and expedited entry

The theme for 2017 is “Summer of Weird,” honoring the 50th anniversary of the Summer of Love and celebrating the current generation of creative events. Bring flowers, bring costumes, bring love, and bring peace.

There will be a special Summer of Love pavilion at the center intersection providing art and music from the ’60s and information. Tie-dye art and activities will be provided by Love On Haight. The California Historical Society will be providing information on the events of 1967 and the 50th anniversary events of 2017.

There will be dancing in the streets at 11 stages of world-class electronic music, spectacular performances, fantastic foods, unique vendors, visionary art, and inspiring creativity.

This year, the three main entrances to the faire are at Howard and 1st Streets, at Howard and New Montgomery Streets, and at Mission and 2nd Streets. It is recommended to take public transportation to the faire.

The How Weird Street Faire is located a short walk from Market Street and the Montgomery BART station, as well as Caltrains Station, Transbay Terminal, and many MUNI lines.
