As Bayview Hunters Point’s longest-running annual event, the Black Cuisine Festival, was created to highlight culinary talents passed through generations. Black Cuisine shares delectable food rooted in African American tradition bringing people together for a little taste of soul.

FREE, but bring along some cash for food purchases

Enjoy live music, vendor booths, and a variety of food venues featuring down home soul food prepared the way Grandma used to make, including: fried chicken and fish, BBQ, greens, yams, red beans and rice, plus healthy options and delicious desserts. Bring the kids for food and fun at KiddieLand.

Folks who want to share their culinary talent s are invited to enter the annual Soul Food Cooking Contest. Winners will receive cash prizes and ribbons. The VIP Lounge ($50 per person) will feature tastes of the soul food menu with music, drinks and opportunities for networking, with in & out access and parking.
