To help with the healing process after this weekend’s tragic “Ghost Ship” fire, there is a candlelight vigil planned for Lake Merritt on Monday at 8pm to pay respect to those we have lost but never will forget.

Ghost Ship Candle Light Vigil
Monday, December 5, 2016 | 8pm
Lake Merritt Pergola (North east corner of the lake)
FREE

Please bring your own candle(s) and matches. If it’s windy, bring a small cup (styrofoam or those colored plastic cups) to protect the flame from the wind. You will need to make a hole in the bottom of the cup, then slide the candle in from the bottom. Keep the wick of the candle down below the brim of the cup then light the wick. The cup will protect the flame from the wind and your hand from dripping wax.

  • Please dress warm and please leave a comment on offering carpool options or to share memories of a loved one.
  • For assistance and relief to the victims and families of the “Ghost Ship” firem please donate. The Oakland A’s will match up to $60,000 that is donated.
