Our beloved Dolores Park is being renovated in 2014/2015, so get ready for $13.2 million in changes & improvements.

Get ready as the fences are going up and half the park will be closed until the fall of 2014.

The northern side of Dolores Park (with tennis courts & hipster hangout area) will be closed for 6-8 months beginning on March 13, 2014. After the northern side re-opening, the southern side (with Gay Beach) will be closed for 6-8 months.  The playground will remain open throughout the construction.

  • What’s changing?: Expect new bathrooms, renovated tennis courts, new pathways, increased bike parking and better dog play areas.

So make sure you get your fill of spacious full Dolores Park while you can. Soon, all 10,000 of us will be crammed into just half the park on sunny weekends making it that much harder to find the Truffle Guy.

Dolores Park 2014/2015 Closing Schedule

  • Phase I: Northern side closure (Starting March 13, 2014 for 6-8 months) – includes tennis & basketball courts
  • Phase II: Southern side closure (Begins Fall 2014 for 6-8 months)
  • Target completion date: Summer 2015
