SF Celebrates Gay Marriage Ruling

Timed perfectly with Pride, the Supreme Court rules in favor of Gay Marriage

In a landmark ruling by the Supreme Court issued Friday, same-sex marriage is now legal in all 50 states. Read the actual Supreme court ruling.

While this doesn’t change things much in California (it was already legal here and in 36 other states), we should get ready for a big celebration given that Pride is just around the corner.

June 26th seems to be a special date for Gay Marriage – it was exactly two years ago to the day that the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) was ruled unconstitutional by the Supreme Court and people celebrated at a big block party in the Castro.
