December 5, 2012 is the 79th Anniversary of when Prohibition was officially overturned with the 21st Amendment in 1933. So to celebrate, it’s time to drink up! And there’s no better excuse than on “Repeal Day.”

After all, when was the last time you were able to get hammered in a bar for under a buck?

5¢ Beer Day: 1930s “Repeal Day” Prohibition Party
Dress up in period garb and join a march demanding the repeal of prohibition. Afterwards use the secret code word to get you upstairs to a speakeasy party and tap a special cask of IPA with beers for just a nickel

The Hotsy Totsy Club, one of SF Chronicle’s best bars of 2012, hosts a Repeal Day 1930s costume party with 50¢ draft beer and 50¢ whiskey shots for all those in ’30s attire.
