On Sunday, October 23rd, a group of talented artists will paint 50 nude models outside the Ferry Building, followed by a nude march to Fisherman’s Wharf.

This it not a protest, but a celebration that also takes place in New York City, Amsterdam, Brussels.

The models will be of all shapes and sizes promoting body acceptance as well as human connection through art. The theme “Inner Beauty” encourages artists to look to the inner spirit of their model for inspiration.

Bodypainting Day is organized and founded by NYC artist Andy Golub. Although legal in New York, Golub was arrested in 2011 for body painting in public. Golub stood his ground and opened the door for artistic nudity in New York, and is now sharing his art in cities around the world, including Amsterdam and Brussels, and now San Francisco.
