San Francisco’s “Open Gardens” Day 2016

Tour 16 different community gardens all over SF

On September 24, 2016, 16 community gardens will be open to the public for enjoyment, education and to celebrate these unique green spaces.

Activities include workdays, BBQs, a plant sketching event, photography, and compost and tree pruning workshops. ere will also be a hub of activity at the Golden Gate Park CommUNITY Garden. View the full schedule and map.

There are 38 gardens which are volunteer-run (1,700 participants and counting) under the umbrella of Rec and Park’s Community Gardens Program, which is a component of the citywide Urban Agriculture Program.
