The International Indian Treaty Council presents Indigenous Peoples’ Annual Thanksgiving Sunrise Gathering on Alcatraz Island, San Francisco Ohlone Territory, on Thursday, November 26, 2015.

FREE but you’ll need a boat ticket to get to Alcatraz

Tickets to Alcatraz are $14 for adults and free for children under 5. The Pier 33 ticket office opens at 4:15 am, boats run from 4:45-6 am.

There will be presenters on current and past Indigenous Peoples’ struggles to defend human rights, sovereignty, Treaties, sacred sites and traditional lands, plus drummers, and dancers. The event commemorates 523 years of Indigenous resistance, honoring our ancestors and future generations, as well as IITC’s 41 years of work for the rights and recognition of Indigenous Peoples, 1974 – 2015.

Wheelchair accessible. Absolutely no drugs or alcohol of any kind. Smoking only in designated areas. No sales permitted.
