Civil War Day at Fort Point: Free Admission & Free Tour | SF

Fort Point is the only brick Civil War fort west of the Mississippi. It was the Homeland Security for San Francisco in 1861. Find out why it was built and what life was like for the California Union soldiers who were stationed there.

Re-enactors, both civilian and military, will bring the old fort back to life with music, military drills, demonstrations, and exhibits. Tours will be given throughout the day. A colorful flag ceremony will take place soon after the fort opens.
