The festival takes place each fall with 10 days of science and technology lectures, games, exhibits, workshops and hands-on activities all over the Bay Area.

Berkeley Lab’s Science at the Theater program comes to San Francisco’s Marine’s Memorial Theatre, with six scientists presenting their ideas to transform the world from turning CO2 into fuel and desalinating seawater in an energy efficient way, to capturing carbon from smokestacks using nanotech.

- Jeff Urban: Nanoscale Sponges: Capturing carbon with metal-organic frameworks

- Raymond Weitekamp: DIY Efficient Windows: Applying paint-on coatings for energy efficient windows
- Samveg Saxena: MyGreen Car: Test driving “vurtually” to compare real fuel economy and EV range
