Event Details

Green Apple Books and Music is letting you get a peek at the historic San Francisco Elks Lodge and hear New York Times best-selling author T. J. English for the launch of the final volume of his non-fiction Irish mob trilogy, Where the Bodies Were Buried: Whitey Bulger and the World That Made Him on October 6th at 7 pm.

Hosting T.J. English on October 6th is the historic San Francisco Elks Lodge, the oldest extant Elks Lodge in the country, established in 1873. Housed within The Kensington Park Hotel on fabulous Union Square in downtown San Francisco, this normally private club is honored to open its swanky doors to all guests interested in hearing about the wild and violent years when Bulger ruled with a wicked fist, his decades of being on the run from the law, and the sensational trial that found Bulger convicted of 11 murders and racketeering charges galore. Cocktails and light snacks will be available, as will book sales; author signing to follow.

Don’t miss your chance to hear the inside dirt on a living legend, while relaxing inside the legendary confines of one of San Francisco’s favorite hidden gems. This event is free, and open to all ages.

T. J. English is the author of six previous hard-hitting books on different aspects of organized crime, but early readers of Where the Bodies Were Buried consider this to be his finest work to date. Recoginized as the preeminent chronicler of the Irish Mob in America, English attended the Whitey Bulger trial of 2013 on a daily basis, and quickly realized that there was something of a conspiracy afoot between the Department of Justice, and one of the FBI’s most wanted men, Whitey Bulger. The cover-up exposed by English during this trial moves his narrative beyond Bulger, and focuses on the larger universe that helped to create Whitey.
