CODAME “Art by Code” Exhibit | SoMa

CODAME Art+Tech presents Art by Code, a triumph of human ingenuity and a tribute to artists who dare to imagine, invent, and test the limits creating art generated by code, in conjunction with Roll up Gallery at the Public Works in San Francisco from January 9-31, 2014.

The selection here represents a sampling of an explosive field and draws on the latest in computer technology from such fields like fractals, algorithmic processes, software art, generative art, data visualization, 3-D software, and much more.

CODAME Art by Code Exhibit

  • Open Gallery: January 9, 2015 with music from DJ Harbour, full body 3D scans with Modbod3D, a chance to be captured by the IOIO plotter and pixel art LED Displays.

  • Closing Night: January 31, 2015

“Art by Code” gives us an insight into a changing cyber universe populated by artists who brave new frontiers with their computational skills, and go beyond the limits of commercial software to create their unique codes that center on ‘interactivity’ and ‘user’ experiences. The computer as the medium raises a host of intriguing questions and forces us to rethink what is art.

Artists: Reza Ali, Robert Allison, Nick Ciontea, Tim Cowley, EMi, Al Linke, Inigo Quilez, DC Spensley.

Art curators: Jaqueline Bacich and Jordan Gray from CODAME
