They shut their doors and only allow folks (regulars) who have a ticket enter the bar--neither do they have beer service to the street. Harrington's is an Irish Bar and has preferred to keep a more respectful eye towards the traditional Irish holiday, rather than making everyone "Irish for the day" and getting frat boys drunk. This event is sponcered by The Royal Exchange and Schroeder's (the big German Joint across the street from Harringtons) and it is a money-making venture for both. And they are successfull in making a lot of money on this day. Think of the "event" like this: If you enjoy being crammed on the most crowded bus of your life--a bus filled with very drunk and arrogant frat boys--this is the event for you.
