Event Details

Former US Army Captain Joshua Mantz, author of the forthcoming book, The Beauty of a Darker Soul, will take audiences on a relatable tour of his journey back from harrowing physical and psychological experiences serving in Iraq. As medical director of the PTSD Program at the San Francisco VA Health Care System, Dr. Thomas Neylan will describe remarkable recent advances in the understanding of how the human mind and body respond to traumatic stress and connections between personal experience and human biology in the veteran population.
