The Matrix (1999)

Cubicle coder Neo hacks a path through mirrorshades, patent leather, Baudrillard, and Déjà vu to discover that the Matrix is a virtuality power plant for a nefarious robot dystopia.  Can brainflashed Kung Fu, techno and human will to power defeat omnipotent AI disguised as men in black agents?  Is there a difference between Keanu’s CGI acting and his real acting?  Why don’t the robots use geothermal heat instead?

Featuring pioneering special effects, trend setting tropes, Johnny Mnemonic, Cowboy Curtis Fishburn, Trinity Moss, Elrond and a pallid palette.  Déjà vu.  Directed by the Wachowskis.
